Letter: Seniors question shutdown of Lucky 7 arcades

To the editor:

I am writing upset by the forced closing of the Lucky 7 arcades.

Can the attorney general walk in my shoes or the hundreds of others that walk through that door day after day? She will be old in time and not like it, being a senior citizen.

I liked this place, as did all seniors, for many reasons: Not far to drive, the person running it not looking to make a million, and we with walkers, canes and wheelchairs were welcome to meet old friends and make new ones in a comfortable chair and with soft music, to talk about our aches and pains.

We forget we have arthritic fingers and painful bodies for the hour or two and remember younger days at penny arcades, where we won prizes.

Our prizes today mean as much as then and more — dinner out, a new blouse, gifts for relatives and friends, a Music Theater ticket, all that Social Security does not allow. For the few pennies we spend here, we forget the 3 Ds around the corner (disease, dementia and death).

We the seniors are asking to please bring back our arcade.
