Letter: Christmas is for everyone, regardless of faith

To the editor:

I would like to assure the residents of this community that the atheists, agnostics, secular humanists and spiritual but religiously unaffiliated among them are not in league to remove all mention of Christ or Christmas from the winter holidays. We hold no meetings, have no television or radio stations, and do not, as a group, contribute to political campaigns. I realize that complaints about the use of public money and public schools to foster the symbolism of specific religions have given rise to a peculiar form of Christmas-deprivation panic. But, please, be assured that Christmas is ever-present. Everywhere. For everyone.
