Letter: Gun control isn't aimed at real problem

To the editor:

I believe more deceitful and even worse, useless, gun regulation is deliberately aimed in all the wrong places.

I have owned a gun since I was 12 ,and by the time I was 15 or so, most of my friends owned guns. On some Saturday afternoons in the woods and fields behind the airport there seemed to be enough fire power to resist a small invasion force.

During the 1950s, even with all these unregulated guns floating around, there was hardly any gun crime, and I would think that this would seem at least a little strange to even the most vicious anti-gunner. Nevertheless, peaceable gun owners such as myself have now become public enemy No. 1 by some insane twisting of logic or maybe even by some treacherous design.

Today, the anti-Second Amendment gang may be able to fool most of the people most of the time, but I am old enough to have witnessed the real reasons why these tragic crimes are happening now.

Gun control has a wicked past, but regretfully, I suppose, we must be reminded of this from time to time.
