Letter: Gloucester Stage and North Shore are theatrical 'gems'

To the editor:

In the past, I have written of the many reasons I love living in Salem, “Gateway to the North Shore,” as its known: its history, harbor, university, hospital, world-class Peabody Essex Museum.

However, I neglected our proximity to two wonderful entertainment venues: the Gloucester Stage Company, theater at its best, in my humble view, and the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, and another first-class gem for live theater, as good as any to be found whether Boston or New York for great acting.

Boston may be bigger, but it sure isn’t better than what we have here on the North Shore!
