Letter: Credit due for clean, safe beach season

To the editor:

As the final days of summer wick away, we in Gloucester need to take a moment and thank the Department of Public Works — especially Mark Cole and his crew — for keeping our beaches beautiful, clean and accessible.

And we need to thank our largely un-sung crew of lifeguards who patiently manage to keep thousands of sun worshipers safe and sound.

Our summers wouldn’t be the same without you all, thank you.
