Letter: Vote Lucas for Rockport's future

To the editor:

I write to encourage Rockport voters to vote Eliza Lucas as our new Selectman in the Tuesday election.

Although I do not know Eliza personally, I have had phone conversations and exchanged emails with her. It is clear from even these brief exchanges that Eliza has a deep dedication to the town of Rockport and to public service.

I read, cover-to-cover, the Town of Rockport’s Annual Report. Reading the reports of department heads, town employees and town volunteer boards fills me with pride. It is their contributions that, in large party, make this village a community.

As an elected member of the Board of Selectmen, Eliza Lucas is exactly the kind of person who will enhance our amazing community. She does not believe in change for the sake of change. However, she does believe that a community must build, responsibly, toward the future.

Please vote next Tuesday. Please support Eliza Lucas.
