Letter: Thanks for standoff tragedy averted

To the editor:

I would like to extend my thanks to the negotiator, our local officers and visiting SWAT members, and emergency crews for the safe conclusion of the incident at 11 Beauport Ave. that occurred late Wednesday night into early Thursday.

As the next-door neighbors, my family, as well as my sister’s family, were evacuated from our home by the police. From my mother’s house across the street, we witnessed the whole ordeal.

We are all glad for the safe resolution of the situation and are hopeful our neighbor gets the help he needs.
