Letter: Theft of sign can't steal any votes

To the editor:

As a concerned voter, I had placed a sign for my candidate for U.S. Senate on the front of my Back Shore property.

Several days later, the sign was gone, and I assumed a prankster had taken it. It could not have blown away since it was tied tightly to some shrubs.

Wanting to continue to show my support, I managed to get another sign, which I again tied to the same shrubs.

And again, three days later, the sign was gone.

Now, I assume that someone who wants a different candidate elected stole the sign — and I wonder if that individual believes his candidate can win only if there is no opposition visible.

Shame on the thief who, fortunately, cannot steal my vote!
