Letter: Boling deserves nod for selectman's seat

To the editor:

This is an open letter to the voters of Manchester:

I am writing in support of Eli Boling for selectman.

Eli is well-informed on many of the issues before the town having attended nearly all the selectmen’s meetings during the past year. He has taken time to understand how the board works and to educate himself about matters before the board.

His approach to problem solving is thoughtful and intelligent. He is open to hearing all sides of an issue before making any decisions. Long-range planning, unfunded liabilities and improving communication between town officials and residents are issues that Eli wants to work on as a selectman.

He wants to pursue creative ways to offset tax increases. He recognizes the importance of maintaining Manchester’s superior educational system.

Integrity, commitment, hardworking, reasonable, team player, open minded and fair — these are all characteristics that Eli will bring to the Board of Selectmen. As I leave the board after 10 years, I am keenly aware of how important it is that Manchester has responsible, dedicated, and intelligent leadership.

I have every confidence that Eli is up to the tasks that lie ahead and that he will serve Manchester well.

I urge you to vote for Eli Boling for selectman on Tuesday, May 21.

SUE THORNE
