Post office protesters go too far

To the editor:

On Thursday, Jan.17, I happened to be at the Post Office on Dale Avenue getting some stamps.

As I was coming out of the building, on the sidewalk, there was a table with someone collecting signatures for a petition to impeach the president of the United States.

If this is your cause, I don’t have a problem with that. But, the pictures of the president had him with a “Hitler mustache” It was very, very disgraceful and appalling.

I am a veteran. My son, Christian, is a veteran. My younger son, Alain, is now serving, and his wife, Percephanie is a veteran. We are all proud to have served this great nation of ours.

I believe in the First Amendment. Hell! I believe in The Constitution — and, yes the people at the table with the petition were excercising their rights.

No matter what your politics are, whether you agree with the presidents’ policies or not, collect your petitions, protest and even demonstrate — all peacefully of course, and with respect.

But at least have some respect for the president and the office that he holds.

How can you compare The president of the United States with Hitler?

After all, Hitler was a monster. The president is not.
