Letter: Magnolia center a true community resource

Gloucester Daily Times

---- — To the editor:

The Magnolia Library Center on Lexington Avenue in Gloucester deserves recognition for its support of our youth programs.

The center has been home to countless community events and is a gift within Cape Ann.

As an example of its support, the center donated the charming Jones Hall to the Gloucester High School football team to use as a place to celebrate this season’s “kick-off” dinner. It would have been challenging otherwise to find a space with a full service kitchen as well as one that would accommodate the entire team of 80. The dinner was a great success and the football players were able to socialize in a safe environment that was familiar to many of them. By hosting events such as this, the Magnolia Library Center has proved to be a notable asset to the community.

Thank you to its members for their gracious hospitality. Their gesture demonstrated, yet again, their sincere desire to support the youth programs in Gloucester.
