Election letters deadline

To all letter writers:

The deadline for all letters pertaining to Gloucester’s Nov. 5 city elections is at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30. All letters regarding the election, its candidates and issues must be received by that date in order to be included on the Times Opinion pages in the days that follow.

We will seek to print as many letters as possible. However, all letters that will be printed will appear in the Times by the edition of Saturday, Nov. 2. No election letters will be printed in the papers of Monday, Nov, 4, or on Nov. 5, Election Day, unless an urgent need arises to print a response or correction to a letter that appears Nov. 2.

We ask that writers confine letters to 350 words or less, and all letters are subject to editing by Times staff.

All election letters should be sent via email to Times Editor Ray Lamont at rlamont@gloucestertimes.com, or may be mailed to Election Letters to the Editor, Gloucester Daily Times, 36 Whittemore St., Gloucester MA 01930. Letters may also be delivered in person to the Times offices at 36 Whittemore St. The most effective method for sending letters, however, is via email.
