On behalf of the Elder Sisters Committee, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all who made this year's outing a huge success. I especially want to thank the committee: Jane Burbank, Clara O'Malley, Dolly Herrick and Alice Nahatis. Special thanks to Denise Samolchuk, Leslie Davidson, Joan Houghton, Kathy Curran Chalmers, Christina Barrett, Johanna Kadra, Connie Brown, Mark Hammond, Larry Hall, George Nickless, Mike Divone and Crosby's Market, Curran Brothers Florist, Barby Almy and the Causeway Restaurant (Jimmy and crew)! It is with much appreciation that I thank all of you for sharing your time and energy on behalf of the Elder Sisters of Manchester.

Heartfelt thanks to Susan Beckman, whose wise words on volunteerism could not have been more appropriate; it is because of the dedication and energy of all volunteers involved each and every year that make this day so successful.

Sincerely,

Nancy Hammond

CAAA benefit BBQ

The Cape Ann Animal Aid would like to thank Shaw's, Override.com, and Irving & Gulf Oil for sponsoring a fundraising BBQ at the Shaw's Superstore on Eastern Avenue in Gloucester on June 20. Additonally, we were thrilled to have the support of the following businesses who supplied entertainment, food and activities for the afternoon: Jacky Ankeles and the Good Time Team from Northshore 104.9; GAP Promotions; Horizon Beverage; Ipswich Ale; Northcoast Seafoods; North Shore Kayak Outdoor Center; and Seabreeze Liquors. We wish to thank the store manager, Mr. Kevin Bacon, and the staff at the Eastern Avenue Shaw's for organizing and hosting the BBQ fundraiser. We are thrilled to announce that more than $580 was raised to benefit the homeless dogs and cats at the Cape Ann Animal Aid. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, showed their support and enjoyed the afternoon with us!

Sincerely,

Cape Ann Animal Aid staff and Board of Directors
