---- — Sorellanza, sisters in song, will perform “Fall Classics” at three venues starting here tomorrow evening.

The choral group, started seven years ago and led by Rockport’s Patti Pike, comprises 17 women who share their love of singing.

They have a wide-ranging repertoire. Their program ranges from Renaissance to Broadway, sacred, madrigals, Beatles and jazz.

The a cappella chorus will perform Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 48 Middle St. in Gloucester; Sunday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Society at 4 Cleaves St. in Rockport; and Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Church of the Holy Name at 60 Monument Ave. in Swampscott.

The repertoire for this concert ranges from Native American to African American to Shaker to Beatles, Cindy Lauper and Coldplay.

Nancy Goodman, a new member of the group, said one of the delights of Sorellanza is singing with women from 18 to 88.

“Patti Pike creates an atmosphere of love and support. We actually begin each rehearsal in a circle giving each other back rubs. One of the beautiful aspects of singing in chorus is that, in contrast to our highly individualistic culture, Sorellanza’s goal is to blend our unique voices into a mix so that no one voice stands out from the rest,” she said. “That in itself is a sublime experience.”

Songs featured in this concert include “Now I Walk in Beauty,” “Honey in the Rock,” “Songbird,” “Time After Time,” “This Girl,” “All My Loving,” “Tuxedo Junction”, “Fix You,” “Love Is Little,” “The Rose,” “Water Come-a Me Eyes,” “Wish Upon a Star,” “Earth Angel/Sh-Boom” and “Johnny Angel.”

This year Pike invited high school singers to sit in with the group.

“Audiences will enjoy the youthful additions to the choral sound, said Kate Stevens. The two high school singers are Jenny Sonia of Rockport and Theresa Orr of Beverly.

Besides Orr, Sonia and Pike, Sorellanza members are Carol Carlson, Andrea Coates Vinson, Karen Koerth, Nancy Goodman and Jen Fuller, all of Rockport; Donna Prezzano, Inga Soderberg-King, Lee Steele, Anne Stevens, Susan Taormina and Andree Robert, all of Gloucester; Peggy Duff of Essex; and Bernadette Orr and Kate Stevens of Beverly.

The group’s mission statement says: “We aim to bring fine vocal music to the community at a modest ticket price, while giving local women the opportunity to grow musically and to experience the special kind of closeness that comes from singing together. We are committed to exploring and performing music of many styles and traditions. We would like Sorellanza to become an integral part of the already rich cultural life on Cape Ann.”

Tickets are $12. For more information contact Anne Stevens at 978-281-6417 or visit sorellanza.com.
