Summer camp sessions concentrate on the arts

Groups of youngsters have been attending weeklong art camps at the nonprofit Art Haven in Gloucester.

A week ago, Susan Hershey, a potter from Rockport, was the guest artist, teaching children how to make various kinds of pottery.

This week, Art Haven teamed up with Maritime Gloucester for a week of projects at both locations.

Next week, campers will split time between Art Haven and the Cape Ann Theatre, or The Annie, learning about theater arts

Another weeklong art camp is “Recycled Art,” where attendees will bring in old, unwanted items and turn them into something new.

Visit www.arthaven.org or call 978-283-3888 for more information about the sessions.
