Senior Lunch Menus

Anonymous Gloucester Daily Times The Gloucester Daily Times Fri Oct 05, 2012, 01:07 AM EDT

SeniorCare serves this lunch menu this week to seniors 60 and older:

Friday, Oct. 5 — Reduced sodium hot dog, baked beans, cole slaw, strawberry cup

Monday, Oct. 8 — Columbus Day

Tuesday, Oct. 9 — Vegetable orzo soup, fish with picatta sauce, vegetable blend, Jello

Wednesday, Oct. 10 — Beef burgundy, spinach, whipped potato, chilled pineapples

Thursday, Oct. 11 — Baked ziti with meat sauce, lemon broccoli, Caesar salad, apricots

Friday, Oct. 12 — Split pea soup, chicken tenders, scallop potato, raspberry square

Skim milk and controlled-sugar dessert available. Meals are served at:

Rose Baker Senior Center: 978-281-0081

McPherson Park: 978-283-3141

Sheedy Park: 978-281-5128

Rockport High Apartments: 978-546-7061

Lunch is served Monday to Friday at 11:30 a.m. Reservations are required and a donation of $2 is requested.

In the billowing arms of a sweetened omelet, local strawberries leave shortcake for Escoffier. A little lighter, a little more epicurean than strawberry shortcake, a dessert omelet filled with strawberries is as delicious as it is angelically light.
