---- — Rock-n’-roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason — who founded the iconic group Traffic with Steve Winwood at age 18, and penned the classic “Feelin’ Alright” a year later — is headed for Rockport to perform two “unplugged” concerts at the Shalin Liu Performance Center Nov. 30 and Dec. 2.

Mason, a musician, singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Worcester, England, caught the music world’s attention with Traffic, but his career encompasses 50 years of making music.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of Traffic, which also included Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood.

Seth McNally of ME Productions said Mason will perform here accompanied by another guitar player in this unplugged version. Salem’s Eric Reardon, described as a “guitar prodigy,” will open both shows.

Mason has played and recorded with the world’s A-list of musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Fleetwood Mac and Cass Elliot.

In 1969, Mason left Traffic to head to the United States to pursue a solo career.

He struck gold with the album “Alone Together”, followed by five albums that went on to Gold and Platinum status,” according to a press release. In 1993, Mason formally joined Fleetwood Mac and spent two years touring with the band around the world. The band completed the album “Time,” featuring Mason’s lead vocals on songs including “Blow By Blow” and “I Wonder Why.”

A prolific artist, Mason has penned over 100 songs in a career linked with numerous members of rock and roll elite. His last release, titled “26 Letters, 12 Notes,” is described as a soulful blend of Mason’s rock and blues influences.
