Senior Menus

The Gloucester Daily Times Fri Feb 10, 2012, 05:18 AM EST

SeniorCare serves this lunch menu this week to seniors 60 and older:

Friday, Feb. 10 — Cream of vegetable soup, meatloaf with gravy, roast sweet potato, Jello

Monday, Feb. 13 — Chicken Primavera, mushroom sauce, green beans, pears

Tuesday, Feb. 14 — Salisbury steak with gravy, whipped potato, fresh carrots, sweet heart pudding

Wednesday, Feb. 15 — Turkey and broccoli divan, wild rice, spinach, orange

Thursday, Feb. 16 — Polynesian Luau, pineapple pork, Polynesian rice, gingered broccoli, coconut cake

Skim milk and controlled-sugar dessert available. Meals are served at:

Rose Baker Senior Center: 978-281-0081

McPherson Park: 978-283-3141

Sheedy Park: 978-281-5128

Rockport Community House, 58 Broadway: 978-546-5027

Lunch is served Monday to Friday at 11:30 a.m. Reservations are required and a donation of $2 is requested. For details on home-delivered meals or to volunteer, call SeniorCare's Nutrition Program at 978-281-1750.

Avid gardeners often are frustrated when a temporary or permanent disability leaves them unable to pursue their pastime.
Perhaps given incentive by the knowledge that our population is aging, many companies are coming to the rescue with new products, and there are some hints that can make gardening easier for those with arthritis or other disabilities, or even those who use wheelchairs.
