On the mats: Schoolchildren learn yoga

MANCHESTER — The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department recently brought its “Yoga for Kids” program to Memorial Elementary School.

The program incorporates games, music, stories and crafts to help children learn yoga poses and breathing techniques. The classes were taught by Suzanne Otterbein of Manchester.

According to the Parks and Recreation brochure, “Yoga will help your child to increase flexibility and strength, enhance concentration skills, improve general well-being, feel physically and mentally rejuvenated, boost confidence, relax the mind and reduce stress.”
