Quartet to play at Oscars party

The 85th annual Academy Awards will be shown in high definition on the big screen at Cape Ann Community Cinema’s annual Oscar Party. The event starts at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.

The New England String Quartet will play a mixture of movie favorites and classical chestnuts. The red carpet show starts at 8 p.m., with the ceremony, hosted by “Family Guy” guru Seth MacFarlane (nominated for Best Original Song for his tune from “Ted”), starting at 8:30 p.m.
Movie snacks from around the world will be served, and every guest will have the chance to win a movie party for 100 people by guessing the winners in the seven major categories.
Tickets for the Oscar Party are $15, $13.50 for members. More information and a full film schedule through Feb. 28 can be found at www.CapeAnnCinema.com.
