Celebrating Day By Day

30th anniversary for adult day care

It was a party 30 years in the making.

Earlier this week, on Wednesday, May 1, clients, staff, and friends celebrated Day By Day Adult Care’s 30th anniversary.

The business, based in Blackburn Industrial Park, started in May 1983 and has provided services to the elderly and disabled from Cape Ann and the North Shore. The clients, who come from Rockport to Peabody with the majority from Gloucester, range in age from 30 to 99. About 55 people attend each day.

The center provides a wide range of activities, medical monitoring, counseling and therapy to participants. It arranges transportation for participants and provides breakfast, a hot lunch and an afternoon snack.

These services allow them to live in the community with caregivers or independently.

The birthday celebration featured a large cake frosted in bright yellow and blue, a recap of the last 30 years, and testimonials from present clients.
