Franklin Fridays

Who: Linda Amero Trio

Where: The Franklin Cafe, Gloucester

When: 7 to 10 p.m.

Local vocalist, Linda Amero, invites different guest jazz musicians each week to join her. This week she is featuring Steve Heck on piano and Bronek Suchnaneck on bass. For dinner reservations, call 978-283-7888.

Who: Slingdaddy

Where: The Rhumb Line, Gloucester

When: 9 p.m.

A Pop, rock, and reggae band.

It's Generational

Who: Generation Gap

Where: Elliott's at the Blackburn, Gloucester

When: 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Generation Gap will be playing their brand of rock and roll that includes a mix of great covers like Dave Matthews, Tom Petty, John Mayer, Matchbox 20 and Lynyrd Skynyrd as well as some catchy originals that are fan favorites. With vocal capabilities not often heard on the club scene, the "family" band consists of the father son trio of Craig, Jason and Cory Eliot with long time, well known north shore musicians Dave Koen and Bob Bradford.

One World Coffeehouse

Who: Lissa Schneckenburger

Where: One World Coffeehouse at the First Universalist Church in Essex

When: 8 p.m.

The traditional music of New England can be as warm and comforting as a winter fire or as potent and exhilarating as a summer thunderstorm. Fiddler and singer, Lissa is a master of both moods, a winsome, sweet-voiced singer who brings new life to old ballads and a skillful, dynamic fiddler who captures the driving rhythm and carefree joy of dance tunes old and new. Megan McKenzie Band features the powerful vocals of up-and-coming local talent, Megan Downey backed by local veterans of the local music scene. The band performs hits from the 60's to the present.

When: 9 p.m.

An acoustic duo.

Who: The classmates (formerly "class of '66)

Where: The Gull Restaurant and Sports Pub

When: 8:30 p.m.

SUNDAY

Big Foot invades!

Who: Sasquach

Where: The Rhumb Line, Gloucester

When: 8 p.m.

Well known Gloucester fisherman, Paul "Sasquach" Cohan heads the band which plays 60's and 70's classics.

Celtic Music Session

Who: Michael O'Leary & Friends

Where: Elliott's at the Blackburn, Gloucester

When: 5 to 8 p.m.

In the style of an Irish house or pub 'seisiun,' an acoustic session of mostly traditional songs and tunes from the Celtic countries.
