---- — For every Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops session she teaches, award-winning actress and Gloucester native Heidi Dallin invites a special guest she believes can impart useful knowledge for a career on or behind the curtain. The instructors have run the gamut from a costume designer to a magician.

Rockport native Daria Whittaker, herself a former Youth Acting Workshop student, visited Dallin’s class recently to teach the children yoga techniques for breathing, flexibility and relaxation that can be used during rehearsals and performance.

The students range in age from 6 to 18 and study acting for six weeks, for a total of four hours per week. Workshops, sponsored in part by The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation and the Bruce J. Anderson Foundation, develop self-confidence, communication and teamwork skills. The winter workshop session ends March 9.

Dallin may be contacted for more information and to register a child for a future session by calling 978-283-6688.
