Cape Ann Chamber music set for St. Paul's

Now in its fifth season, the Cape Ann Chamber Music Summer concert series returns for 2013.

There will be a concert featuring works by Bach, Mozart and Grieg on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gloucester.

The music will be performed by violinist, Gabryel Smith, violist, Susan Slowick, and pianist, Kathleen Forgac,

Smith is a Gloucester native and holds a degree in Violin Performance from New York University. He is currently a member of the New York Philharmonic staff and a freelance performer in the New York area, having also appeared in concert tours in Europe and South America.

Slowick is a frequent Cape Ann Chamber Music performer on both violin and viola. A student of Roman Totenberg and George Neikrug, she has appeared with the Concert Opera Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the Commonwealth, The Nashua Symphony, the Vermont Symphony, Symphony by the Sea and the Cape Ann Symphony.

Forgac holds a master’s degree in piano performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and is a veteran chamber music performer and soloist, having appeared with many orchestras and chamber music ensembles throughout New England and beyond. She holds awards from the Royal Society of Arts in London, the International Piano Recording Competition and the Blossom Festival School.

The Cape Ann Chamber Music concerts are known for its vibrant performances, which are, in keeping with the organization’s mission statement, “committed to bringing the finest musical performances to its community.”
