Essex Police/Fire: Driver avoids injury in accident

ESSEX — A woman escaped injury in a accident on Main Street on Friday at 1:16 p.m.

Essex police said that, as a woman was opening her car door, a large delivery truck struck the car door.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, police said.

Police officers tracked down two donkeys. The animals had gotten loose from a Southern Avenue residence near King's Court.

Police responded after receiving a call Friday at 10:30 a.m that the donkeys were running down Southern Avenue. The woman who owns the animals retrieved them.
