Republican 'rebuilding' meeting tonight

Tarr, Hill to attend

State Sen. Bruce Tarr and state Rep. Brad Hill are slated to be among those participating tonight in a Gloucester Republican City Committee meeting aimed at helping to "rebuild" the party.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. and will be hosted by Rick Maybury at 101 Western Ave. in Gloucester.

Anyone interested in participating is asked to contact Lucas Noble via phone at 978-394-16498, or via e-mail at lukejnoble@yahoo.com.

Tarr, R-Gloucester, serves as assistant minority leader in the state Senate, while Hill is an Ipswich Republican whose district includes Manchester. Though Democrats hold a massive majority in both the House and Senate on Beacon Hill, Cape Ann is one of the rare areas whose State House representation is a Republican majority.

Cape Ann's lone Democratic representative is first-year Gloucester state Rep. Ann-Margaret Ferrante, whose district also includes Rockport and Essex.
