Police said Wednesday they will seek a criminal complaint against a Gloucester man after he allegedly drove off the road, over some shrubs and into a the front yard of a Bray Street residence.
John Hauck, 66, of 1 Dune Circle, was cited for driving to endanger after he hit a stop sign at the intersection of Bray and Atlantic Street, swerved and drove his 2000 Saturn station wagon up over the property wall, according to police. The vehicle then went through some shrubs and onto a Bray Street front lawn at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Police indicated that Hauck was not injured in the accident; Tally's towed his car from the scene.
Hauck told police he must have fallen asleep at the wheel and had been awake since 3:30 a.m. Tuesday working to complete a project. He had stopped in Beverly to rest because he felt he was getting tired.
A Way Road resident called police to report an alleged scam Wednesday at 8:51 a.m., telling officers he has received calls from a chimney company telling him they are scheduled to come clean his chimney.
He told police he has never heard about this company, and would like officers to keep an eye on his property.
The Fire Department's rescue squad transported a man from Commercial Street to Addison Gilbert Hospital on Wednesday at 9:11 a.m.
Police responded to 28 Patriots Court for a report of loud music made Tuesday at 4:27 p.m.
Police said they could hear the music from the street, and spoke to a man who was streaming music from his computer, urging him to quiet it down.
The man initially refused to do so. But when officers told him they would have to seek a complaint against him, he lowered the volume. Officers did not receive another call about the noise.
Beauport Ambulance, in its role as the city backup provider, transported a Madison Avenue man to Addison Gilbert Hospital on Tuesday at 4:33 p.m.
The Fire Department's rescue squad transported an unconscious man from Washington Street to Addison Gilbert Hospital on Tuesday at 6:57 p.m.
