Jessica M. Freeman, 32, of 86 Washington St., was arrested Saturday afternoon on trespassing charges at the Family Dollar on Whistlestop Way.


A Gloucester woman was not hurt after being involved in a one-car motor vehicle accident on Gloucester Avenue at 4:15 p.m. Friday. According to police reports the woman was blinded by the sun and hit a large rock on the side of the road.

Police were called to Prospect Street at 5:35 p.m. Friday on reports of a fight. When police arrived, they found a man and a woman arguing over custody issues. The woman was told to leave the scene.

A Hesperus Avenue woman reported to police at 11:45 p.m. Friday that an Ocean Avenue man stole her purse. The man returned the purse prior to police arrival and the woman said nothing was missing. At 2:55 a.m., the Ocean Avenue man told police that the Hesperus Avenue woman stole $110 from him. Police confronted the woman and did not find the money on her; she told police she believes it was retaliation for her calling police on him for taking her purse. No charges were filed in either incident.

A Middle Street woman was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by rescue squad at 4:50 a.m. with an unknown medical condition.

A Harriet Road woman was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by rescue squad at 1 p.m. Saturday after complaining of stomach pains. A Spring Street woman and a Prospect Street woman were also transported by rescue squad on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to Abbott Road at 3:10 p.m. Saturday after receiving several reports that four or five gun shots were heard. Police searched the area and found nothing.

An Essex Avenue woman complaining of chest pains was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by rescue squad at 2:35 a.m. yesterday.
