---- — ESSEX — A verbal exchange between a resident and four youths in an allegedly speeding car on Conomo Point Road prompted a town police response Tuesday at 2:37 p.m.

Officers received a report of the speeding car on Conomo Point Road, and the resident who called police had taken down the car’s plate number. The caller said he yelled at the four youths driving the car, and one of them screamed something back at him.

Police went to the house to which the vehicle was registered, and a woman there said her brother had borrowed her car. She said she wasn’t sure where he was. Officers couldn’t locate him, either.

Police reported a power outage on LaBaron Road at 4:13 p.m., Tuesday.

A Lakeshore Drive resident called police at 9:03 p.m. to report that nearby generators were too loud. Police responded and said the generator noise was understandable due to a power outage on the street.
