Hiltz, Masons team up for storm relief effort

Gloucester Daily Times

---- — With Gloucester and Cape Ann residents grappling with a nor’easter that arrived Wednesday, a local business and civic group are teaming up to help the millions of people in New York and New Jersey still dealing with the aftermath of superstorm Sandy, which delivered a direct hit to their coastline communities 10 days ago.

The Windows’ Sons Masonic Riding Association, a Gloucester chapter of the Lodge of Freemasons, and a group working in conjunction with various other Masonic groups in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is asking for help providing goods such as food, shoes, and blankets to the people of the Atlantic states who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy.

And a truck donated by Gloucester’s Hiltz Moving & Storage company will deliver all donations to Masonic lodges in New York and New Jersey for distribution to hurricane victims.

Those who wish to help this relief effort should bring any donations of items to Hiltz Moving & Storage, Inc., located in the Cape Ann Industrial Park at 23 Kondelin Road in Gloucester between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The deadline to drop off donations is Friday at 5 p.m.

Potential donors are also invited to visit for a complete list of items needed.
