Manchester Police/Fire: Police probe copper theft from cell tower

MANCHESTER — Police are investigating a theft involving copper, after an employee of cellular service provider Metro PCS reported that $2,250 of solid copper was stolen from the cell tower on Pipeline Road over the past couple of months.

Police said the wires connecting the copper plates appeared to have been cut. Two of the plates measured at 4-by-12 inches and a half-inch thick, according to police.

And the other half-inch thick plate measured 4 inches by 24 inches, according to police.
