End of the line for Hornets

For the fifth time in the last six years, the Manchester Essex Regional girls field hockey team made it to the Eastern Mass. North sectional Division 2 finals.

And for the fifth time, the Hornets came up short Sunday, falling by a 2-0 score and bowing for the fourth time to Watertown at North Andover High School.

While ending Manchester Essex’s season, the win also gives Watertown its fifth straight sectional title, and stretches Watertown’s five-year-long winning streak to 90 games.

Manchester Essex closed out its banner season with a record of 18-2-1. For story and more photos, turn to Page 7.
