Gloucester Police/Fire: Man transported, charged after cycle crash

After Fire Department paramedics took a Gloucester man to Beverly Hospital for injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash, police charged him with unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle Monday at 6:02 p.m.

According to police, Mark Sholds, 22, of 30 Prospect St., lost control of his motorcycle coming down the hill on Witham Street.

He told police at the scene that his foot was possibly broken. While paramedics tended to his medical needs, however, police found that he had been driving an unregistered dirt bike without a motorcycle license.

Sholds told police that he was on his way to take his motorcycle off-road. The officer, however, told him that he couldn’t operate an unregistered vehicle on a public way.

A Marshfield Street man told police Monday at 11:28 a.m. that someone threw a flower pot at his car Sunday night, adding that he suspected his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.

Police took an intoxicated man to the Action Shelter at 7:22 p.m. on Monday after he refused ambulance transport on Prospect Street.

Officers found an intoxicated man passed out on the sidewalk on Main Street, Monday at 11:27 p.m. The man told police he was on his way to Walgreen’s to pick up a prescription. Police had him transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital.

Fire Department paramedics transported a Chestnut Street woman to AGH at 7:18 a.m. on Tuesday after she called complaining of chest pains.

At 7:19 p.m. on Monday police found a man walking toward the A. Piatt Andrew bridge from West Gloucester. He told them that he was walking back from his girlfriend’s house on Becker Circle. Police, however, drove him home instead.

At 10:11 a.m. on Monday, a landscaping company called police from an Eastern Point Boulevard residence saying that workers had dug up an incorrectly marked gas line. Officers called National Grid, who responded and secured the line.
