MANCHESTER — The summer-style weather brought out the people Monday — and with them came a rash of calls to the police.
At least three cars were towed from Singing Beach for being illegally parked Monday, with more drivers issued tickets for parking violations.
Police said that a car struck a trash can on Beach Street at 11:59 a.m. Monday, scattering trash into the street, but no one was harmed and no damage was done to the car.
Groups of children playing sports in the street roused the ire of neighbors on Butler Avenue and Smith Lane, with the homeowners on those streets calling police to report a baseball and a basketball game, respectively, in progress, police said.
The baseball game took place at 4:06 p.m. Monday, while the basketball game was at 10:05 p.m. Monday. Police said the games ended when offices arrived to break them up.
Several teens will be summoned to court to answer charges of being minors in possession of alcohol following a party on Raymond Street reported at 10:53 p.m. Monday.
