Essex Police/Fire: Teens on roof prompt call to Grove cottage

ESSEX — Police received a report at 2:03 p.m. Friday that five teenagers were on the roof of the town's cottage at Centennial Grove.

When police arrived, the teens were no longer on the roof, but police asked them to leave the property.

A Martin Street man came into the station at 8:11 p.m. Friday to report that his neighbors were playing loud music. An officer went to the area and determined that the music was at an acceptable volume.

Police are investigating a report of a vandalized car on Western Avenue, where the windshield was shattered by a rock sometime early Saturday morning, according to the car's owner. The owner reported the vandalism at 9:08 a.m. Saturday.

A musician leaving a show at a Western Avenue business called police at 1:15 a.m. Sunday to report that two speakers he had been loading into his car were missing.

Police investigated, and found that the speakers had been taken by another band member and were not stolen.
