---- — ROCKPORT — Rockport firefighters responded to a residential fire alarm at 10:36 a.m. Thursday on West Wharf Road.

Responders, however, found that the alarm had been inadvertently set off by contractors working at the site.

The town ambulance squad separately transported two patients Thursday from Rockport to Gloucester’s Addison Gilbert Hospital.

The first transport came at 3:03 p.m. from Bradley Wharf, while the second came at 3:56 p.m. from Agawam Lane.
