Gloucester Police/Fire: Lanesville man charged in domestic assault

Police arrested Robert Wolsfelt, 61, of 21 Coggeshall Road, on charges of assault and battery Thursday at 11:52 p.m.

The arrest came after a woman at the residence called and said a man had threatened to harm her.

Officers responded, but before they arrived, they received a call from a man at the residence reporting a domestic assault.

When police arrived, they found Wolsfeldt, allegedly intoxicated, sitting on a rock in front of the house. He said he and a woman in the residence had argued. When he went upstairs, she called the police and he tried to take the phone out of her hand. They started fighting and he shoved her.

The woman said Wolsfelt tried to take the phone out of her hand and they started fighting. Police arrested Woslfelt on charges of assault and battery.

A Veterans Way resident called police and reported that an "old man" had tried to abduct children playing outside Thursday at 8 p.m.

When police responded, the caller and children said they saw a man in the bushes, who motioned for them to come over to him. They ran. Police told parents to call if they saw the man again, and officers searched for him but didn't find him.

An Amero Court resident called police at 5:18 p.m. Thursday to report that someone had fraudulently gotten into her cellphone account with AT&T. She said her monthly bill was around $500 higher than usual. Police took the report on file.
