An 85-year-old Gloucester man died Monday in the aftermath of a car accident on Rogers Street where it meets Commercial Street in downtown Gloucester.
According to Carrie Kimball Monahan, a spokeswoman for the Essex County District Attorney's Office, James Brennan of 31 Winthrop Ave. was riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle driven by his wife Margery Brennan, 77, when the vehicle struck a parked car at about 10:10 a.m.
According to Monahan, Brennan was injured in the accident but was speaking. Brennan, however, was transported by ambulance to Addison Gilbert Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Monahan.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of Brennan's death is still under investigation, according to the DA's office.
