A 13-year-old boy was brought to the police station by a Lighthouse Taxi driver at 6:36 a.m. Monday after the boy told the driver that he was running away from an abusive home.
Police notified the state Department of Children and Families, and the boy remained at the station, though he was not in need of medical attention, officers said.
Police investigating the allegations found the boy's family had noticed his absence, but had not yet contacted police.
Robert Cluett, 38, of East Main Street, was charged Monday with assault and battery and harassment.
According to police, Cluett allegedly harassed a woman who works at a local restaurant, threatening her and grabbing her after following her out of her workplace.
A truck was reportedly broken into at 7:34 p.m. Sunday on Rocky Neck Avenue.
According to police, the windshield was smashed, and the owner found the truck with its door open and missing two packs of cigarettes. The owner told police the truck had been left unlocked.
A barrel was reported in the roadway on Main Street at Eastern Avenue at 5:56 p.m. Sunday. The barrel was moved out of the street.
A child was reported walking away from his bus stop at 8:10 a.m. Monday by a neighbor who realized the boy was not going to school.
Police spoke to the boy's mother, who told them the boy had returned home.
