Rockport Police/Fire: Rockport hit with power outage, downed lines

ROCKPORT — Homes on Doctors Run reported a power outage at 6:23 a.m. Sunday. National Grid was notified and restored service, but utility crews could not find a cause for the outages.

Wires were also reported down on King Street at 10:28 a.m. Monday. In that case, Verizon was notified and dispatched a crew to the scene.

A residential burglar alarm went off on Wharf Road at 5 p.m. Friday, but police who responded could find no reason for the alarm.

The Fire Department responded to a Mount Pleasant Street residence at 12:39 p.m. Monday for a smoke detector sounding. When the firefighters arrived, however, they found no fire and discovered that the detector was faulty.
