Balmy winter weather brought people in droves to Singing Beach this past Saturday.
Among them where many dog owners, top, who walked and played with their pets their dogs along the surf's edge.
Mike Brown, right, of Manchester came to ride his Fatback, a sand and snow bike on the sand. Brown said riding on the beach was a good way to release some stress and prepare for Sunday's Super Bowl.
Goodwin gets a standing ovation from the entire school population during the surprise party at Newell Stadium.
Gloucester High School Principal William Goodwin, who had, unknown to school's students, unexpectedly left building around midday Thursday, was told he had to come back to address an unknown "emergency." And when he arrived, seeing the students outside the building led him to believe there had been an evacuation.

Wellspring House of Gloucester held its 14th Annual Women Honoring Women Luncheon earlier this month with over 670 in attendance.
This year's honorees were long-time Wellspring volunteer Betsy Brown of Manchester, The Open Door's Executive Director Julie LaFontaine of Essex, and Barbara Lynch, one of Boston's and the country's leading chefs and restaurateurs. Lynch also was the keynote speaker.
All of Cape Ann's communities will be marking Memorial Day on Monday with ceremony and services to commemorate those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
Gloucester's program will have a new look, even as a traditional part of the event has been has been reinstated.
