A 23-year-old Gloucester man arrested in May on charges of malicious property damage over $250, had his charge reduced to malicious damage under $250 at a pretrial hearing Friday in Gloucester District Court.
Samuel F, Coffey of 63 Summer St. pleaded guilty Friday of the charges against him, and was placed on probation until December 2013. If Coffey breaks his probation, he faces a jail sentence of one year, 17 days of which he's already served.
Coffey was arrested on May 28 after officers found him apparently walking while intoxicated along Essex Avenue, according to the police report. According to police, Coffey had punched a side view mirror off of a passing truck and later became aggressive toward police, fighting one officer at the booking station, according to a police report.
A 47-year-old woman was ordered to attend an alcohol education program, will lose her license for 45 days and will pay $600 in court charges after submitting to sufficient facts on a drunken driving charge.
Maura D. Cronin of 1 Evans Way, Rockport, was arrested in May on charges of drunken driving and failing to drive within marked lanes on Route 128 in Gloucester.
Cronin was exciting Grant Circle onto Route 128 when officers observed her vehicle swerving, according to a police report. The officers pulled Cronin over and arrested her after she failed sobriety tests, according to a May 24 report.
