Town Talk: Dispatch center tour set

The Essex Police Department is inviting residents to take a tour of the new regional police dispatch center in Middleton on April 9.

Vans will leave from the Essex Senior Center at 17 Pickering St. around 10:15 a.m., arriving at the center around 11 a.m.

“It’s a special opportunity to tour the place and to ask any questions that residents may have about the new facility,” Police Chief Peter Silva said. Essex is the only one of the four Cape Ann communities that will be using the regional dispatch facility

People can take their own transportation, but a head count will be required for the van convoy, Silva said. Anyone interested should call Silva at the police department at 978-788-6200.
