---- — A Knowlton Square woman reported Wednesday about 7:38 p.m. that another woman had tried to break into and enter her house.

The resident said a neighbor had reported the incident to her, but that she knows the suspect and did not want to press charges and knows the suspect, according to police.

Police called the suspect, who told officers she was trying to get some of her property from the house, though she understood how she may have appeared suspicious, according to the police report.

Police informed the woman of how to take appropriate measures to get the property, and she agreed to do so, police said.

The Department of Public Works was assigned to board up a smashed window on the Acacia Street side of the old Maplewood Avenue School building Wednesday, after police noticed the broken window.
