Gloucester Stage offers youth acting workshops

Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops is accepting students ages 6 to 19 for the fall session, which begins Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28.

The six-week workshop features expanded instruction time and lower tuition thanks to sponsorship in part from The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation and the Bruce J. Anderson Foundation.

The class is taught by award-winning actress and Gloucester native Heidi Dallin, as well as guest instructors. The workshops are designed to nurture the children’s creative potential through developing self-confidence, communication and teamwork skills while learning about professional theater.

The workshops include an introduction to theater basics such as theater games, improvisation, movement, vocal and physical expression, character preparation, scene study, storytelling, writing and public speaking training.

Students will receive instruction in American Sign Language taught by Kara Kelly Martin and prepare for the annual holiday production “Holiday Delights 2013.”

To register, call 978-283-6688.
