Manchester Police/Fire:Gunshot sounds draw police response

MANCHESTER — Police said a Crow Island man called police around 3 p.m. on Tuesday after hearing what he thought were gunshots.

Police said the call was apparently spurred by “bird bombs,” small devices used to scare off birds from a property.

There was no firearm being used, police said.

A Summer Street man called police Tuesday at 6:46 p.m. to report a number of items missing from his home. Police are investigating.

A resident walked into the police station Wednesday just before 10 a.m. and had some questions on restraining order practices; police said they fielded all the questions, but found no apparent violation.
