Bearded Sox brigade

Regional high teachers lead charge

---- — When the Boston Red Sox move on to the American League Division Series starting Friday, many of the Sox players will do so sporting bushy and, well, generally not-so-stylish beards.

And some residents across Cape Ann are growing beards of their own as a show of support.

Now, that craze has hit Manchester Essex Regional High School, where a number of teachers, coaches and even students — those who can — have joined in.

The Gloucester Daily Times will continue to run your beard pictures throughout the playoffs and, we hope, on to the World Series.

If you’re sporting or growing a beard — real or fake — to show support for the Sox, and you think it ought to be featured in the Gloucester Daily Times, just email a hi-res jpg, along with your name, hometown and caption information, to Special Projects Director Tracey Rauh at trauh@gloucestertimes.com.
