Last bricks honor vets at WWII Memorial

Last bricks put in place for WWII veterans

Masons with Earthworks of Rockport worked Thursday on the final section of Gloucester’s World War II Memorial at Kent Circle.

The masons were laying bricks with names of city residents who served in the war, capping an effort carried out by the Gloucester World War II Memorial Committee, chaired by Michael Linquata.

This week’s work was the final phase of a $235,000 project that began in 2008 and was paid for through both public and private sources.
