---- — To celebrate International Observe the Moon Night, people gathered at Manchester Public Library on Tuesday evening to peer closely at and learn more about that celestial object.

The moon appeared shy at times, coming and going, in and out of the clouds.

Chuck and Joan Houghton of Manchester brought several telescopes and high gear binoculars and tripods from NASA and the Lunar & Planetary Institute were also on hand for this third annual fall library event.

And Tang and moon pies were served to participants for a space age experience.
