Manchester Police/Fire: Town man arrested after hit and run

MANCHESTER — A Highwood Road man was arrested Saturday on Pine Street after a hit-and-run accident just before 2 a.m.

Eugene Turner, 21, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving to endanger, leaving the scene of property damage and driving with an open container of alcohol.

Police said he was bailed out and was going through court proceedings yesterday.

On Monday, firefighters checked a Tucks Point Road residence after a smell of gas was reported around 1:30 a.m. Police said firefighters could not find anything wrong.

Police responded to a report of a man passed out in his car near the Pine Street ramp of Route 128 northbound Monday around 7:30 a.m. Police said the man was sleeping.
